Artist Statement
A work in progress
Born in a quiet town just outside Bristol in the 90s, I now call the Midlands home.
Since I was a kid, I’ve always been tuned in to what’s going on around me. That sensitivity makes me notice things, people, moments, details. I try to bring that same awareness into my practice, to paint narratives, moments and moods that I believe are worth savouring.
An evolving vision
This chapter marks the beginning of an exciting direction in my artistic journey. With a new found need to share vulnerability through new artistic expression. I am giving myself freedom to create work that evokes an acute sense of self through a process of experimentation and exploration.
Rather than focusing on a single medium or genre, I work intuitively, allowing my experiences and creative energy to guide my creative focus.
Making a mark
What I do stems from a hunger to capture people, places, and moments that resonate with with me as a way to connect with others who share the same emotional perspectives.
I use colour, texture, and a combination of mark-making to create something that feels alive, like a vibrating still from a memory. My paintings aren’t about documenting the world exactly as it is, but about expressing how it feels. A way to covey a sense of self which invites the viewer to experience and perceive.
